40Summary:
A Registered Nurse skilled to deliver individualized nursing care to patients/families according to their identified needs. The nursing care is based on the nursing process and augments the medical plan of treatment appropriate to the Specialty Clinic.
Education:
Graduate of accredited nursing program.
Minimum of one year pediatric nursing experience preferred.
Experience in a clinical setting preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
This role will serve primarily as a resource for the clinic and will be expected to be competent in the following:
Care for central lines which includes accessing mediports, changing dressings on central lines, changing caps, and drawing labs.
Be a member of our procedure team and assist in safely caring for patients during, pre and post receiving moderate sedation for their lumbar punctures, bone marrow aspirates and line removals.
Be able to fill in and support Medical Assistants on days that call for it.
Be able to support certain aspects of team nursing and seeing patients within the Stem Cell Transplant and Neuro Oncology Teams.
Certification/Licensure:
Current permit or license to practice professional nursing in the State of Texas.
Current BLS Certification.
Will obtain advanced life support certification within two years from their date of hire/transfer date.
Other certification may be required by department.
Valid Driver's License required
